PRESS RELEASE

The 8th Annual Jake’s Off-Road Triathlon was held Sunday, May 4th. This year’s race was the most successful ever. In addition to the many competitors, including an astounding amount of individual female entrants, spectators were out in full force. Its grassroots beginnings are still apparent, but this competition is fast becoming an international event.

The course was very demanding this year. The swim in Great Bay was made more difficult by heavy winds and tides. The bicycle course has become a great challenge due to the heavy rains last year washing out the roads. The run, as always, was challenging, because of the heat that only gets worse as the day lengthens. This year, it was truly an Off-Road triathlon. Nevertheless, our competitors persevered and finished unscathed and exultant.
